Grooms Cake

We don't know about you but we're OBSESSED with Pinterest, literally losing hours just browsing around!

It is a wonderful place for inspiration or 'Pinspiration' if you like (we do!). One thing that we have learnt through our perusal of Pinterest and our obsession with 'Amazing Wedding Cakes' is that our friends over the pond have a tradition of giving a 'Grooms Cake' on the Wedding day.

Here's a few of our favourite examples,

A Grooms cake is a gift from the Bride to her Groom and is supposed to reflect his personality and his interests / hobbies.

We think its a wonderful idea and would certainly love the opportunity to have a go! Maybe we'll whip up some examples that we would use for our other halves, although my boyfriend (Hi it's Lizzie typing!) doesnt like cake.

Yes, i know.
No, really.
I know!
Strange thing he is.

Have you considered adopting a new tradition for your wedding? Drop us a line, we'd love to hear your ideas for Grooms cakes!

Princess Cakes

We've had a busy couple of days trialing ideas for cakes, rather girly cakes at that! Princesses to be even more specific, and we love them!

Both inspired by Cinderella, the blue and white of the first cake and the second cake we attempted to recreate the wonderful sewing scene from the film! Cinderelly Cinderelly...

This little princess caused a mixed reaction on our Facebook page but we sure would have loved this as a little girl! Infact we would probably be pretty thrilled if someone graced us with a cake like this for a birthday now. We did have to reign in the urge to go 'Big Fat Gypsy' on the cake with rhinestones, crystals and and a shed load of glitter!

We're plotting a baby shower cake next before we start work on the orders we have in the diary. We shall keep you posted with pictures and stories as we go :)

Valentine's Day

So, that time of year is upon us once again! All the flowers, cards and chocolates are adorning the shelves of the supermarkets! Love is in the air!

BUT, Valentines doesn't have to be an overly extravagant day, there's no need to spend £££'s to show someone that you care, just as it doesn't have to be a rubbish day if you don't have a 'special someone'. Text your best friend, send them your Valentines wishes! INFACT! Do it even if you do have a 'someone special!' Valentines is just a lovely day to show someone you care and that you love them!

Happy Valentines for Thursday, have a lovely day and EAT CAKE!
